A different expression of Marlborough sauvignon than Awatere, and a wonderful advertisement for how well the grape can do when barrel fermented. Wild fermentation in old French oak gives a nutty, herbal and buttery quality to the aromas alongside the fresh stone fruit, while the palate balances roundness and crispness, offering flavours of apple pie, thyme and citrus.
