Christmas is a magical time of year which is celebrated differently across the world. Join us as we take a culinary tour of some of the more interesting traditional Christmas dishes, paired with a selection of equally festive wines.
Did you know that because about 3.6 million Japanese families eat KFC on Christmas Eve, they often need to reserve their meal up to two months in advance?
Christmas is a magical time of year which is celebrated differently across the world. Nowhere is this more true than with the dishes that are commonly eaten on Christmas day itself. While in the UK turkey has become the norm, in Germany the star of the show is the Weihnachtsgans, or Christmas goose, often stuffed with apples, chestnuts, onions, and prunes, then spiced with marjoram, whilst in Iceland roast lamb would be expected. When it comes to the finale, the French bring their Christmas meal to a close with a classic bûche de Noël, Jamaicans turn to rum-infused fruit cakes or if you were from Down Under you might indulge in a pavlova.
