Stevenage - Thanksgiving Dinner
Back by popular demand, we’re bringing you a taste of a classic American Thanksgiving dinner – but instead of crossing the pond, we’ll be celebrating a little closer to home at our Stevenage HQ.
We’ll be joined by Tastings & Events co-ordinator Emma Briffett and our America buyer and self-confessed Americophile Sarah Knowles MW. Sarah is an unashamed fan of all things American. Her love for American football is only surpassed by her knowledge of US crime and comedy dramas. A regular visitor to the US for Thanksgiving celebrations, she will talk us through the challenges of matching wine to the flavours of this classic meal as well as filling us in on some tasty new additions to our American range.
Whether traveling from near or far you will be greeted with a warm welcome and cool drink on arrival before you are led through an evening of food and wine discovery by way of a four-course meal with six matching wines.
Your palates will be teased and challenged and ultimately delighted as each wine pairing is meticulously planned to bring together seasonal produce with delicious wines from our 1,500+ wine list including rare treats from our stores of mature vintages.
Our friendly Tastings team will be on hand to guide you through the wines and dishes, offering fascinating insights into the wines, their producers and their winemaking practices, and chatting through why the food and wine pairings were chosen.
Join us for a night of tasty food, delicious wines and great company.
Sit back, relax, and let the Tastings & Events team guide you through the wonders of food and wine pairing, whether it be at a restaurant takeover, themed dinner, Members’ lunch, or foodie masterclass. Our team will help members learn the building blocks of how the flavours and sensations in food and wine interact. The menus for the events are usually provided on registration but do let us know of any dietary or seating requirements.
Do you send physical tickets or is it all e-tickets?
We no longer send out physical tickets for our events. An email confirming registration will be sent to the member who has purchased the ticket(s) and this email can be used as confirmation upon arrival at the event.
Can I bring a non-member?
Yes. Tickets must be booked by a member, but you are welcome to bring non-member guests.
Do I need to know lots about wine to attend?
Absolutely not! Our events target a range of experience and knowledge levels, and we try to make this clear on our event pages. If you’re unsure if an event is for you, simply contact tastings@thewinesociety.com and we will try to help.
Do I get a discount on wines after events?
After our ‘in person’ events, we offer attendees a 10% discount on the wines we have shown, subject to availability. You will be provided with a private code after attending the event to redeem the discount
What is your cancellation policy?
Full details on our cancellation policy can be found here.
Can I join a waiting list for sold out events?
Yes. Please do feel free to join our waiting lists for sold out events. If tickets become available you will be contacted by email.
