Glorioso Crianza, Rioja 2018
12 months ageing in French oak has enhanced this contemporary expression of Rioja. It is toasty, plump and fruity.
Aglianico del Vulture, Le Ralle 2019
Made from the aglianico grape, which, grown on these volcanic southern slopes, develops a perfumed nose of fig and black-cherry fruit, black pepper, tobacco and violets. A lovely medium-bodied wine with firm tannins and a long finish.
The Society's Chilean Pinot Noir, Leyda 2021
2021 is a superb year in Chile, producing intensely flavoured wines. Cooled by its proximity to the chilly Pacific Ocean, Leyda produces lovely black-cherry scented pinot noir with a fresh and bright palate.perfect for roasted beets with sliced burrata.
Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise Shiraz 2020
A superb example of affordable and generous McLaren Vale shiraz. This Australian red offers lovely ripe juicy red fruit on the nose, with bramble and violets. The palate is full-bodied but fresh, with a silky texture and spice.
Château Bel Air Perponcher Rouge Réserve, Bordeaux 2019
Ever consistent Bordeaux red, a plump, juicy blend of mainly merlot, with 15% cabernet sauvignon for added structure and finesse. Lovely cassis perfume and soft, ripe fruit on the palate.
Cabardès Terroirs d'Altitude, Château de Pennautier 2018
In its choice of grape varieties, Cabardès looks west to Bordeaux as much as it does to the Mediterranean. Syrah, cabernet sauvignon and merlot make up 75% of this full-bodied wine with dark, spicy plummy fruit. Now nicely rounded after some time in bottle.
