Costières de Nîmes La Ciboise, Chapoutier 2023

From a stony plateau to the south of the Roman city of Nîmes. This is an exuberantly fruity grenache-syrah blend, with blackcurrant, cherry and blackberry aromas combined with a juicy and generous body.

France £9.95 per bottle
2024 - 2026

The Society's Côtes-du-Rhône 2023

Ripe, fruity grenache-syrah blend from an outstanding producer in Vinsobres. Expect brambles and dark cherry and plums with hints of liquorice and clove spice. Juicy core and well handled tannins.

France £8.95 per bottle
2024 - 2026

Grignan-les-Adhemar Rouge, Gourmandise, Domaine de Montine 2023

Produced from grenache and syrah and coming from truffle country at the northern edge of the southern Rhône. Think brambles and wild herbs with a generous core. Grignan is where Madame de Sévigné wrote her famously witty and vivid letters, but presumably not about wine!

France £10.95 per bottle
2024 - 2026

Côtes-du-Rhône, Domaine du Seminaire 2023

The Valreas Villages usually features in our en primeur offer, this wine was so charming and representative of 2023. Just over the hill from Vinsobres, planted at altitude and cooling Alpine influences a blend of grenache, syrah and carignan delivering a blueberry and blackberry perfume with pepper and violets.

France £9.95 per bottle
2024 - 2027

Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge, Clos Romane 2023

A ripe and concentrated red with brambles and blackberry combined with some herbal notes and chalky, well integrated tannins. Stéphane and Nadine Charancon have 30 hectares of vines, some of which are over 50 years old, planted on clay and limestone soils which range from the terraces of the Aygues River right up into the mountains. The estate was created in 2011, having previously sold the grapes to the local co-op.

France £12.50 per bottle
2024 - 2027

Crozes-Hermitage Les Papillons, Domaine Gilles Robin 2023

A Crozes that has lots of freshness and juiciness from a vintage that is fruit forward with crunchy acidity and fine grained tannins. From 30 year old plantings, the wine has a lot of red berry, cherry and plum concentration with liquorice spice. An accessible, early drinking wine that pairs well with steak or pizza. Crozes-Hermitage accounts for more than half of the northern Rhône's production and as such is the standard bearer for the syrah grape. This is the classic name for shiraz and it probably was first planted here, maybe on the hill of Hermitage which dominates the land around. Syrah is a relatively thick-skinned grape with very dark juice, which here is grown close to its northernmost limit.

France £16.50 per bottle
