The 2015 Rhône Reds Collection
Wines included
Cairanne, Paul Jaboulet Aîné 2015
This full-bodied, richly flavoured and figgy red is Jaboulet’s first ever release of a Cairanne, appropriately marking the region’s elevation to cru status.
Saint-Maurice Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, Domaine de l'Echevin 2015
A full-flavoured grenache-syrah blend from Saint-Maurice which is next-door to Vinsobres and makes broadly similar wines. This has lovely crispness and a touch of spice and a particular fullness in the 2015 vintage.
Vacqueyras, Domaine La Roubine 2015
Full-bodied grenache-led blend from a relatively new estate run by Eric and Sophie Ughetto. This is thickly textured and generously flavoured with hints of plum, fig and herbs. Perfect with a wintery stew.
Ventoux Epicure, Château Valcombe 2015
From a little haven of old vines on the lower slopes of the Mont Ventoux, this is full-flavoured with ripe-tasting black-fruit flavours. The inclusion of 25% carignan effectively balances the powerful grenache, resulting in an excellent-value wine.
