The second wine of Henri Lurton's rising star Brane Cantenac, this elegant and appetising Margaux is a blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 7% cabernet franc. It reveals fresh, vibrant fruit character on the palate and a long finish.

Château Lanessan, Haut-Medoc 2015

This well-placed property, with vineyards across the border from Beychevelle and Branaire-Ducru in Saint-Julien, has undergone a renaissance in recent years. The 2015 has notes of mocha coffee on the nose with ripe black fruit and spice on the palate. A claret with good keeping potential but which is lovely to enjoy now.

France

Château Meyney, Saint-Estèphe 2015

This well-placed property has upped its quality noticeably in the last decade, and recent vintages have performed well in comparative tastings. The 2015 is a delicious with lovely, ripe stone-fruit and mocha coffee notes, and attractive spicy oak on the finish.

France

Château Saint-Pierre, Saint-Julien 2014

A dense Saint-Julien with a lush black-fruit and cigar-box palate, creamy texture and a lifted, fresh finish. Top-notch cru classé Bordeaux that will benefit if decanted for 30 minutes before enjoying.

France £49.00 per bottle

Château Croizet-Bages, Pauillac 2015

The best vintage of Croizet-Bages since the excellent 2010, this is a vibrant and pure Pauillac exhibiting dark fruits, graphite and a touch of spice on the nose and attractive fruit expression on the palate. Great value for its quality.

France

Château Poujeaux, Moulis 2015

A noteworthy wine in a strong vintage for this part of Bordeaux, with an expressive, spicy nose, good purity of fruit on the palate and ripe, silky tannins. A very complete and attractive left bank claret.
