Wines included
Navajas Crianza, Rioja 2016
This plump, satisfying Spanish red melds strawberry and cherry fruits with a silky palate and a touch of vanilla from ageing in high-quality oak barrels. Supple enough to be enjoyed on its own, this also deserves to be the centrepiece star for a leg of lamb or gently spiced, root-filled roast.
The Society's Portuguese Red, Península de Setúbal 2020
Finding such easy-drinking pleasure at this price can be a tricky business for a wine buyer, but when our team tasted the second vintage of this generous, fruit-filled Society wine blind during our Wine Champions sessions, we knew it had the x-factor. A bargain.
Valpolicella Valpantena, Torre del Falasco 2020
Vibrant, red-berry and cracked black-pepper perfume, a light body yet concentrated summer-berry flavours and a refreshing finish - classic youthful, delicious Valpolicella. This Italian could be lightly chilled too, and would be perfect with a spicy pizza or cold cuts.
Viña Zorzal Graciano, Navarra 2019
A fresh and brightly fruity Spanish red made from the graciano grape in the Sanz family vineyards in Navarra, next door to Rioja.
