The Pfeffernüsse Stout, Anspach & Hobday, London (6%, 440ml)

Anspach & Hobday are perhaps most well-known for the quality of their dark beers so it's no surprise that their Christmas stout should be outstanding! This is rich, malty and full-bodied, with perfectly balanced and delicate notes of ginger and cinnamon. Far more than just a gimmick, this is a superb wintry beer. Please note that this beer has been priced to reflect that it is now just past its Best Before date. The best before date, sometimes shown as BBE (best before end), is about quality and not safety. The beer will be safe to drink after this date but may not be at its best.
