The Society's Exhibition Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
We were delighted to work with Vasse Felix, one of the Margaret River pioneers, for this Wine Society exclusive. The long growing season allows cabernet to ripen to perfection revealing silky black-fruit flavours which follow on from the enticing bouquet. Full-bodied with an elegant, pristine and polished finish in a vintage that produced wines in a lighter style than usual, this is a really beautiful expression of the grape made by Virginia Willcock, one of the country`s most decorated winemakers.

Vasse Felix
The earliest pioneer of Margaret River winemaking, Vasse Felix was established in 1967, founded by a doctor, Tom Cullity, who searched relentlessly in the area for just the right place to plant his vines. He found it a Wilyabrup and planted eight acres that remain the heart of the Vasse Felix estate to this day. In 1987 it was purchased by the Holmes à Court family, and they have expanded the vineyard area while maintaining the commitment to quality that was always in place. After all, Tom Cullity's vision was a good one –“to make the best possible wine.”
A View from My Table
Made by noted producer Vasse Felix, it’s in a juicy, accessible style but nevertheless quite serious: juicy blackcurrant fruit with good acidity, hints of tobacco and leather and some length.
