The Society's Sicilian Reserve Red 2019

Red Wine from Italy - S Italy and Islands
4.000000000 star rating 1 Reviews
Sicily’s nero d’Avola grape is behind this popular, generous and fragrant red, produced especially for The Wine Society by the excellent Feudo Arancio estate. The wine captures the essence of the Italian south, with generous layers of ripe dark-berry fruit, softened by partial ageing in French oak and a further 12 months' maturation in bottle before release. The fruit is sourced from the island's Ragusa and Agrigento regions, whose Mediterranean climate, tempered by a cooling coastal breeze, produces robust reds. On the new label for this Society favourite we feature Medusa, an icon of classical mythology, the image of whom Athena, protector of Sicily, adorned her shield.
