Villard Le Chardonnay Grand Vin, Casablanca 2022

0 star rating 0 Reviews
From the cool Casablanca Valley, planted on sandy loam soils, this is fresh and fine barrel fermented chardonnay with intense aromas of apple and white peach with a light scent of vanilla. Matured for 10 months in new, second and third-use barrels to moderate the oak aromas and let the wine aromas shine through.

Thierry Villard

Thierry Villard has broad experience of the wine world. French by birth, he worked in Australia for Orlando, launching Jacobs Creek with great success, before returning to his wife’s native country, Chile.

The ripe and healthy grapes he harvests year in year out, in Chile's wonderfully warm and dry climate, make him the envy of his winemaking friends in his native France. Indeed, he was one of the first to recognise the potential of the Casablanca region, where he has vineyards and a winery. He makes a small range of lovely wines which are getting better year by year.

Refined and not obviously Chilean. Really very well selected and bought. Much more drive than most white burgundies at the same price. Very good value. JancisRobinson.com
