Viña Salceda Blanco Sobre Lías, Rioja 2023
Vibrant, unoaked white Rioja showcasing exceptional freshness and bright, fruity character. Made primarily from old-vine viura, with a hint of white tempranillo to add aromatics with four months on the lees to bring subtle richness and creaminess. It is beautifully balanced, offering lively acidity and generous volume, broad yet refreshing, The creation of this white Rioja begins with a careful selection of old-vine Viura from vineyards in Las Salinas (Badarán), La Caseta (Torrecilla Sobre Alesanco), and La Tejera (Arenzana de Arriba) in Alto Najerilla, whose acidity contributes to the wine’s verticality. This acidity is balanced by riper viura from various plots in La Sonsierra, located in Elciego, Laguardia, and Baños del Ebro, adding richness and complexity. To enhance aromaticity, freshness, and volume, a small amount of white Tempranillo from an eight-year-old vineyard in Valpierre, Rioja Alta, is included. The wine is then aged for four months on its yeast lees in concrete tanks.
