Vittoria Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie 2021
This charming dry white is scented with grapefruit and pineapple, joined on the palate by plenty of nectarine and quince fruit without being overpowering. With a mouthwateringly crisp finish, this really shows why pinot grigio is so well loved.

The Vittoria range is made by Valle, a company founded in 1952 by Luigi ‘Gigi’ Valle, a pioneer of modern winemaking trained at the renowned Conegliano oenology school in the Veneto.
He saw early on that up-to-the-minute equipment like stainless-steel temperature-controlled tanks, sterile bottling and horizontal presses to press grapes gently were vital at a time when there were many archaic practices still in use in a country more interested in quantity than quality in many cases.
With vineyards and growers in both the Veneto and Friuli-Giulia the company, still under Gigi’s watchful eye alongside his sons, remains outward looking and progressive.
Straw yellow. Pear and melon with spicy hints and a tiny bit dusty. Quite ripe fruit on the palate but the lemony notes keep it fresh. Just medium length. A fresh, simple quaffer. 15.5/20
