Weingut Von Hövel
One of the Saar's long-established estates, von Hövel is of monastic origin. Most wines (100% riesling) come from the excellent Scharzhofberg and from Oberemmeler Hütte. They have sole ownership of the latter. The genial smiling figure of owner Eberhard von Kunow, has long been a popular supplier of wine to The Society. His son Max, who took over the reins with the 2010 vintage, is making wines a touch drier than his father, in turn with modern taste and is converting the vineyard to organic cultivation.
