Wildman Wine Piggy Pop Pét-Nat Rosé 2022
The rosé sibling to the cult-hit Astro Bunny, this deliciously mad sparkling is made up of a blend of mataro, lagrein, nero d'avola, arneis and zibibbo, from Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Riverland in Australia. Cherry aromas lead on the nose here, with delicious juicy red cherry and morello cherry notes. There is juicy pomegranate on the palate, with a crisp salinity, spice and twist of liquorice on the finish. The acidity is crisp and the fizz has a gentle mousse-like texture as opposed to being too aggressive. This is a perfect example of how wines can be made in a way which some may describe as 'natural' but thanks to informed and masterful winemaking and years of experience, can result in such deliciousness and consistency.
