Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Vigna Corvino 2019
Rocco Pasetti makes the most attractive example we know of this wine, bursting with gutsy ripe cherry and redcurrant with plenty of spice on the finish. This wine comes from Rocco's home estate, and he is one of the most dynamic grower-producers in the Abruzzo region of eastern Italy, where Appenini meet Adriatic . A man of boundless energy as well as profound knowledge of the local terrain and grape varieties, he has created a model estate and winery to raise the wine to a higher level than is possible in the wine co-operative environment.
Piemonte Cortese 2020
This great value refreshing white wine is light-bodied, dry and lemon-scented. Made from cortese (the grape also used for Gavi) in the rolling hills of north-west Italy near Milan, it can be enjoyed simply but rewardingly straight from the fridge.
