2017 VINTAGE - MEMBER REVIEWS
"Very herbaceous wine which softened once it had breathed. Very smooth and drinkable certainly nice to try something a bit different "
Mr Mike Leigh (25-Sep-2020)
"I agree with the various favourable comments which other reviewers have made and have nothing useful to add. This is a smooth, enjoyable wine. "
Mr Neil Butter (25-Aug-2020)
"Really great example of single varietal Cabernet Franc. I'd say it needs 30mins decant and should be slightly chilled. The nose is quite vegetal, barnyard, grass, tobacco. The fruit is fresh with a gentle acidity that is well-resolved and dries down into a satisfying length. Jammy mouthfeel. Will be buying again."
Mr Will Barry (04-Aug-2020)
"This is lovely Cabernet Franc, supple with some tannins and delicious blackberry fruitiness. Good value for money too. I shall order again."
Mr Nick Lane (28-Jul-2020)
"I agree with everything already written about this wine. Everything I want in a Loire red. A perfect summer red after 30 minutes in the fridge."
Mr Richard Rawlingson (17-Jul-2020)
Mr Bradley Eagle (13-Jul-2020)
"Lots of quite justifiable praise has been heaped on this one.
However, I do feel that if it is kept until this time next year it will be at its quintessence.
"
Mr Grenville Collins (01-Jul-2020)
"A wonderful cabernet franc which also drinks well when cool. Will buy again. "
Mr Christopher Thompson (16-Apr-2020)
"A classic Loire red with typical grassy character and lovely ripe fruit. Cabernet Franc at its best."
Mr Richard Rawlingson (27-Mar-2020)

"Cabernet franc is the
grape here, its leafy green tones adding interest and freshness to deep cassis
fruit. - Christine Austin"

"
Mabileau runs an estate in St Nicolas de
Bourgueil, tucked away north of the snaking River Loire. His 2017 is classic
medium-bodied cabernet franc with spice and vegetal aromas — complex and
succulent.
