"Perfect for brandy lovers who want something to go with their Christmas pudding. Exactly as per the WS description: nutty and figgy. I found it a little short on the palate otherwise it would have been 5 stars."

"Very drinkable. I use it as an aperitif and truly delightful. A lasting nutty finish with notes of honey.
Would recommend.

"Unfortunately we did not like and ordered 2 bottles so the second bottle will just stay in the rack, I probably misunderstood what I was buying."

"A blend of 60% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon but to judge it by its amber colour and it’s aromas and flavours it’s the last grapes I’d have guessed this wine is made from. A nose of apricot and honey which follows through on the very sweet palate with a pronounced nutty and caramelised Cognac finish. A lot of wine for the money which works well as a sweet aperitif or digestif on its own or with cheese, chocolate or fruit desserts."

"Colour: Golden orange/honey.
Aroma: Strong Cognac nose, orange, marmalade, apricots, dried fruit, musk, fruit cake and spice.
Taste: Rich, thick and viscous. The palate is very luscious and sweet with mouth-filling flavours of caramel, fudge and baking spices nicely lifted by a good streak of acidity. The finish is long, hot, spicy and warming.
Overall: Really tasty dessert wine, a wine of substance but not heavy or overpowering. I am not a big fan of Cognac but this is hard to put down. A well made, balanced wine, good QPR, worth a try."

"A delectable digestif, which is light enough to enjoy without worrying about a hangover in the morning. Lovely texture, with nutty notes- and although rather sweet, it isn't cloying and got a lovely Cognac-lite feel to it. We will by buying again!"

"This is the first time I've tried Pineau des Charentes, and this is a delightful bottle of a really unique and unusual drink which seems to have become something of a cult classic for those in the know. Smooth and sweet without being cloying; has much of the flavour of brandy without the punch. Flavours of raisin and caramel. It's unsophisticated in the best possible way: it is what it is, and it's very good indeed. Immensely satisfying when chilled as a digestif or a sneaky aperitif - or just by itself."

"I first tried Pineau when staying in a gite in Charente many years ago. The owner presented a glass on arrival and I was hooked. This is one of the best that I've tried since that time."

"Really nice digestif, you can tell that this is Cognac based, its slightly sweet but not cloying, then you get a real hazelnut finish - rather enjoyable."
