'Never give misery an even break, nor bad wine a second sip. You must be serious about quality, dedicated to your task in life… but this should all be fun.' - Greg Trott.
Although the great Greg Trott died in 2005, it is still his philosophies, values and lifestyle that are richly integrated into everything Wirra Wirra stands for today. Greg and his cousin Roger purchased this McLaren Vale site in 1969, in a state of complete dilapidation, and set about replanting the vineyards and building a winery. Over the years, they transformed the property into one of Australia's leading names with a reputation for intense, well-crafted red wines and expressive, flavoursome whites.
So join us as we share a glass of wine over a virtual lunch with Luke Tyler and head winemaker Paul Smith. Conversations will range from biodynamics to hurling watermelons from a giant medieval siege machine as the duo join forces with Freddy Bulmer, Society buyer for Australia, and taste the Society Aussie Chardonnay and the RSW Shiraz.
We do hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be a fun lunch with Luke and Paul and whilst this event does not require you to buy specific wines, if you would like to ‘taste along’ as you listen, a selection of his wines are available here
