Chardonnay is perhaps the most polarising grape variety of all. Whilst Champagne and white Burgundy are considered by many to be the finest wines of the world; there is also the ‘ABC’ (‘Anything but Chardonnay’) Club showing that we don’t all think the same!
In this mini masterclass, Anna from the Tastings Team will sing the praises of her favourite grape variety and taste through four different styles from around the world. We’ll be kicking off with Chablis before touring the globe for different expressions.
Whilst all members can join the event for free, we encourage you to taste the wines with Anna to see for yourself how terroir and winemaking impact this famously chameleon variety.
Anna hopes to see some fellow fans and even try to convert some ABC Club members along the way!
Wines to be tasted at the event are:
The Society's Chablis 2020 - £14.95
Blind Spot Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2020 - £11.50
Mahi Marlborough Chardonnay 2019 - £13.95
Bogle Vineyard California Chardonnay 2019 - £12.95
And if you would like to join Anna in a glass of sparkling wine before made from the chardonnay grape (entirely optional but very delicious!) then she recommends:
Champagne Lilbert Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut NV
Simonsig Cap Classique Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs 2017
