"My partners favourite wine. Luxurious but not too sweet not an everyday drinking wine but glorious with food and after a meal"

"This is the real deal. Shared with knowledgeable friends who agreed that it is heading towards a 4/9, so don't make the mistake of thinking that it is just a little off dry. Yet again, TWS notes are spot on. Silky is a lovely way to describe its richness. You could spend less but then you would not be getting a 'reference' wine from a top producer. As well as spicy food, do try it with smoke flavours whether that be proper ham, BBQ chicken or smoked cheese."

"
I have long enjoyed Hugel wines and am delighted TWS supports/brings us such a good choice.
I am no expert but I did not find the 2016 Gewurtz at all Dry, it was rich and flavoursome,
in a deluxe style.
And I agree, even better the following day from the fridge. A joy to sip and drink.
Perfect with spicy food and very enjoyable just to drink,, food or no food.
I bought one bottle in a mixed case and enjoyed it so much, I am just ordering
six bottles this time and can't wait to taste again. "

"I prefer Hugel to Trimbach wines, which I find a bit wimpy by comparison. I was slightly disappointed on the first day, but after leaving half a bottle in the fridge overnight, it filled out in body and palate. I bought 6 and will happily drink the other 5, but will wait to see if the 2017 is more substantial. If you like Gewurtz, decant this into a decanter chilled in the fridge first. Would I recommend it? Tricky. I find it a tad pricey, bur then Sterling has fallen so much ..."

"It certainly is rich and went well with Jalfrezi of all things! Definitely needs food otherwise a fairly acquired taste. Would try another Gewürztraminer but may be a 2 of 9 on the scale."

Mr Neil Butter
"This is a delightful example of a grape which has never seemed to have ‘caught on’ in the UK,
perhaps because some people find it difficult to pronounce or because, like Marmite, it is either loved or hated. Here there are all the hallmarks and flavours associated with Gewürztraminer at its best. I like to drink it on its own but most people may prefer it with spicy food or desserts."
