"Consistently excellent over the years - one of the few wines I order by default to ensure we always have a bottle to hand. No it's not champagne (but then it's not priced as champagne ) but it is an easy drinking pleasure, clean and refreshing and marked out by the unmistakable flavour and taste of a wine from Alsace."

"Sadly, we have to agree with Mr Derek Saul (6 Oct. 2019); underwhelming and a let-down after reading the glowing reviews. One of the very few occasions we've been disappointed in a Sociey wine. "

"Unimpressive fizz, with a lovely nose, however pretty basic palate. We were excited to try it after reading all the positive reviews, but could not see this being an alternative to a champagne. We consider this being closer to the prosecco as opposed to champagne. Cremant de Loire is much more preferable choice for us in the same price range. "

"Colour: Pale gold with a green tinge and gentle fine bubbles.
Aroma: Lemon, apple and pear with a nice touch of smokiness and yeast.
Taste: Very dry, med- acidity, the bubbles are fine and creamy giving a very smooth texture. The lemon and apple aromas continue on the palate followed by a medium length zesty finish.
Overall: Enjoyable, like a subtle simple Champagne. Lees ageing is evident and beneficial. Makes a good crowd pleasing aperitif, good for the price and worth a try."

"I surprised myself with this wine: though I'm by no means a fan of sparkling wine, this was deeply drinkable. Neither exquisite nor particularly complex, but with flavours of slightly tart apple and pear and no aggressive acidity it's a very enjoyable wine! Much better than the Saumur Brut I tried a while ago from the Society."

"This is extremely enjoyable. Well defined with plenty of zest and that lovely hint of grapefruit, citrus and spice that Alsace grapes so often yield. Very refreshing on the palate too. Good value and definitely more rewarding than many cheap Champagnes (not to mention those dull Proseccos that are currently all the rage)."

"We really enjoyed this - what a pleasant surprise. Not too dry, but not too sweet either. Great drinking as it is, or in a mimosa for brunch!"
