"This was far better than I had even hoped! Full, with many savoury nuances and flavours, yet still with freshness and a great length. It is far more engaging than many commercial styles of fino. Even though I drank it by itself, it would suit many dishes. I will certainly want to order this one again. "

"A lovely, savoury sherry. Don't think of it as fino - it's much richer, yet more subtle in some ways and nowhere near as mouth-puckeringly dry as some finos can be. It's in a class of its own! Fantastic value for money and my favourite everyday sipping sherry while cooking dinner. Very difficult not to go back to the fridge for a second glass. Highly recommended."

"Excellent fino, dry, tangy and yeasty, has real character. Precisely what you want in a dry aperitif with olives, nuts etc...I could drink on it's own quite happily too!"

"I loved this - dry but rich and complex. Possibly better value even than the Society's Fino, which is saying something. From reading about the production process I wonder, given the very wide variety of opinions here, whether it tends to vary significantly from batch to batch or bottle to bottle. I certainly didn't get 'root vegetables' or a 'fishy' flavour. I got cool cellars, spice, dried fruit and incense. Splendid stuff. Will buy more."

"Gorgeous! An intense nutty finish to a Fino start. A sSuperb and interesting wine that grabs your palate fondly and gives you that delicious tingle that only fine sherry can. I'll be buying more so as to escape the bland offerings of other, more well-known, brands."

"Again I write on behalf of the wife who is the sherry addict, this is very different from any other finos generally available, very dry and "coarse" compared to most and a dark almost evolving colour, not bad but a matter of taste, drank it but would not buy again."

"It's difficult to find this style of fino because the fashion is for cleaner, crisper, fresher styles. This is more developed. Good with marcona almonds. It's superb value for money. I usually pay at least twice this price for this style of fino."

"If you are a fan of the Hidalgo Manzanilla Pastrada, then you should certainly try this. As with all Finos, it has a different "attack" than a Manzanilla, and is slightly fuller flavoured (but still bone dry). Wonderful find and at £2 cheaper than the pastrada will be ordered again for sure.

"Not your standard fino! The deeper burnished gold colour, and intense briny, yeasty aroma are matched by full, rich and complex flavours from the extra maturity. The only mild criticism is that it lacks the enduring finish of some of the best aged fino, but at this price it may be the best value wine in the whole society range."

"I'm clearly in the minority here but I didn't enjoy this at all (and neither did a couple of other regular sherry drinkers I was with). I thought it was overwhelmed by a briny flavour, almost bordering on fishy! One small glass was enough,"

"Absolutely gorgeous. Deeper and more complex than Fino, but doesn't seem to last as long."

"On the nose, nutty and yeasty, almost earthy, with notes of orange peel, grapefruit and yellow apples. On the palate, walnuts and monkey nuts, appley, savoury and slightly bitter, with a medium body and a longish finish. Reminds me of cloudy apple juice or cider and some Scotch whiskies (Highland rather than Speyside), very interesting and unusual, half-way between a Fino and an Amontillado."

"Wonderful! The Society's Fino, also from Sancho Romate, is good, but this has added depth and bite. I'll certainly order more!"

"Initial attack like a fino, but with a delicious nutty follow-through that lingers. A really really good sherry, and great value too!"

"Golden in colour, quite deep for a Fino. Nose shows the characteristic nutty, green almonds (as opposed to roasted ones), green olives, some brine; and plenty of flor, biscuity tones. Palate has nice cleansing acidity, still very refreshing; intense Fino flavours coat the mouth, leading to a very long finish. This feels more mature and has more depth and weight than your typical Fino. Well made, great bargain."

"An exceedingly good wine. For those who hanker after the refreshment of fino in a slightly softer, rounder style. So good at this price."
