"Don't drink a lot of fizz but thought this was excellent. Fresh apple flavour, dense bubbles, and a bready finish. Excellent value. "

"for a thirst quenching bubbly this fits the bill, great value for money. no long finish but at this price I didn't buy it expecting more I did have trouble removing the cork in one peace as they seemed to be pressed in with little thought to removal. Yes I'm getting old but this would test any strong man "

"Perfectly serviceable utilitarian fizz.
Slight pong which dissipated over time. Definitely at the fruitier end of the spectrum.
This is straightforward. A better alternative to prosecco than champagne.
Personally I drink fizz for occasions, and this doesn't measure up for that purpose. "

"Wonderful cava, five stars. Or if I was using Robert Parker's fancy 100-point score, easily a 90. Yes it is cava, so it will never taste like champagne (different grapes, hotter climate), but this is a fabulous example. An absolute steal at the price. "

"I normally try to keep any sparkling wine at least 6 months before opening as it normally improves with more bottle age and most sparkling wine is released before it's at its best (to my mind even cheap champagne and normally insipid prosecco benefit from extra time in bottle). I made the mistake of opening this soon after delivery and it definitely lacks any complexity or brioche/yeasty/autolytic notes that aged cava can develop. It is pleasantly light and delicate with gentle apple flavours and with refreshing fizz but it does not have much length. I suspect that an extra few months in bottle would make a big difference. I notice it is a "Reserva"; most cava simply says "Cava" on the cork seal so this should be a cut above the standard offering. I will try and give the next bottle 6 months to a year to see if it makes a difference but, in any case, this offering is far better than most cheap champagnes and overpriced proseccos available elsewhere. Good for quaffing but perhaps there is more to it than just that."

"Always a very easy drinking wine. Perhaps not the depth of a decent Champagne, but fantastic value for the price and superior to any Prosecco that I have ever been offered. Magnums are even better when they are available "

"Lovely sparkling wine - saw it go out of stock and now relieved to see it back. Small bubbles and soft finish. I much prefer this over the supermarket Prosecco that so many people serve up. Another Wine Society winner."

"Reliably excellent. This has been our house sparkler of choice for some years and never disappoints. Better than any of the big label vintage Cavas on the market, and preferable to most cheap Champagnes. A bargain, and we always welcome the weekend with a bottle on a Friday evening."

"A green apple, granny smith aroma. Lots of small bubbles, which continue. Bone dry but with the sharp apple backbone. In the nicest possible way. Not overly complex but very good value compared to champagne. The bottle did not last very long."

"A group of 8 people tasted blind this Cava, the Society’s Cremant de Loire and Boizel Brut NV. Disappointingly for the Cava, all 8 identified the Cava, which clearly suggested the others were superior. Interestingly, only the qualified sommelier could tell the difference between the Champagne and the Cremant de Loire. All credit to the latter."

"I've been looking at a Cava to rival a sub-£20 Champagne and I think it does? There is that little something lacking that a >£20 champagne has ( smoothness and or finish?) but I'll be certainly buying more Cava from the Society. I'd appreciate a recommendation of another Cava here that has those attributes?"

"Colour: Medium golden yellow with a green hue.
Aroma: Quite aromatic, sharp tangy green apple, lime, quince, grapefruit, a hint of smoke and buttered toast or honey.
Taste: Very dry, clean and crisp, good acidity with large lively bubbles at first but they die quickly. Green apple, citrus and yeast flavours, nice texture with a mildly mouth drying finish.
Overall: Very good for the price, notes of yeast and bread are very evident giving it what Prosecco lacks. Bubbles are larger and not as fine as those of Champagne but what do you want at this price. Not perfect but very fragrant, flavoursome, zesty and very much a Champagne styled wine. A crowd pleaser and I would definitely recommend.

"Can't Complain. I always pad out my WS order with a few bottles as it's often the S.O's Friday Night Thank God That Week's Over Tipple of choice. Lots of fruit , good bubbles possibly slightly sharp being my only crtiticism , but no complaints from across the table. 3 and a half stars."

"Fine bubbles, pale straw. Tangy, citrus nose, hazelnuts. The palate is clean, fresh with a fine mousse in the mouth, citrus fruit and crisp apple on the finish. "I found this a little too sweet for my taste. Its an easy drinking good-value sparkler as has been noted but I think my expectations were raised a little too high by the reviews. I don't regret trying it but I don't think it replaces a good Prosecco. As a short postscript we left an opened bottle overnight with Champagne Saver to keep the fizz and finished it the next day, this reduced the sweetness significantly and in my view improved it."

"A fantastic value sparkler. This shows the finesse and poise that Cava is capable of. Better than most budget Champagnes and so much classier than the majority of the insipid and sweet Proseccos which seem to have flooded the market. Personifies affordable luxury.
