"Lovely and a bargain. Had this with Christmas pudding and compared it with the Samos. Both excellent. But would give this, just, the edge for the this food match. "

"What a fabulous drink. Intense rich fig flavoured sherry. The taste lingers long on the tongue ending with a delightful walnut. We'll be buying more. "

"Fantastic complexity and great flavours.
This is exactly why sherry is the most under valued wine in the world: mature, sweet but not too much: great for a pre-dinner aperitif or afterwards or with dessert.

"My wife, who is a shrewd judge in such matters, took one sip and exclaimed "lovely". This is luscious, sweet without cloying, nutty like an oloroso should be, sandalwood in there somewhere. I can't wait until Christmas when with pudding, nuts, peaches or anything really it will be fantastic."

"Very pleasant. Rich but not as cloying as a PX, and all the better for it."

"Excellent Christmas sherry - opulent, figgy - just the thing to accompany a nice mince pie or two. "

"I normally have Harveys Bristol Cream but it seems to drop quality when they changed the label recently, which is why I bought this bottle. Of course, it is a different style but I thought it had an after taste. It went down fast enough and I will certainly buy it again unless Harveys quality bounces back, which it probably wont. All things must pass."

"Colour: Dark brown leading to a rust orange rim.
Aroma: Intense and rich, raisins, wood varnish, baking spices, citrus peel, caramel, toffee, nutty (walnut), apricot and date.
Taste: Thick and viscous almost syrupy. Mouth coating spiciness, tangy citrus and nutty flavours abound that lead into a very spicy finish that lasts and lasts.
Overall: Love it, a rich opulent wine, attention grabbing. Everything is full-on but the acidity adds great structure making a wonderful easy drinking wine, not at all heavy. Fantastic oxidised nuttiness that lingers. Highly recommend for those looking for a good dessert wine or those who are shy of trying sherry."

"Yum! A delicious alternative to a port to go with some blue cheese. A previous reviewer said an explosion of taste ... that's a perfect description. Excellent value when compared to a port of similar quality too."

"Delicious without being over-cloying, whilst I mostly drink fino or amontillado I indulged myself and find this most agreeable as a complete change."

"I do like this sherry thougth I don't go for it quite as strongly as some. I've not yet found anything that goes so well with a mince pie."

"A medicinal explosion on my palette. Great for a tickly cough but also a fine accompaniment to the cadbury creme egg 'twisted' that you find in your festive box of miniature heroes."

"Quite agree that it’s perfect for Christmas – but waiting a year for the next go is impossible. I had one bottle over Christmas and immediately ordered two more. Powerfully sweet but still with characteristic Oloroso finish: delicious."

"Superb value. Don't wait until Christmas. Excellent with puddings but even better with toasted almonds, manchego and pear. Figgy, yes. But I can taste licorice and pipe smoke. Delicious."

"The use of the word "explosive" is quite apt, I still remember the initial shock of the very first taste, before the comforting velvety warmth did melt away the cold hard edges of winter."
