"old vines in young hands?
The young hands should use them to to dig them all up!! and include the WHITE version'.
I have heard of blind tastings , but i'm sorry to say your lady who stumbled over this vine yard, needs to use
glasses in future to find her way."
Mr Maurice D Hyde (22-Mar-2019)
"Drinkable but there are more wines available at this price "
Ms Clare Turner (25-May-2018)
"The only wine I've sent back, just didn't click with it at all. It reminded me of a very over produced rubbery American red. Each to their own."
Mr Thomas Hall (17-Apr-2018)
"Drinkable at a nice price. Rich and spicy. Creamy texture. A little bite, but not overpowering."
Mr Peter Nelson (27-Mar-2018)
"Now I have to disagree with the pack here. For the price this is very nice. Give it an hour to breathe, get it to room temperature and it goes down with a Sunday roast a treat."
Mr Richard Hadfield (13-Jan-2018)
"a little harsh and strong aftertaste, not one for regular drinking"
Ms Charlotte Pawar (08-Nov-2017)
"Disappointing despite low price. As a long time convert to Portuguese wines I would rate this on a par with very cheap Portuguese table wines."
Mr Jon Rhodes (05-Aug-2017)

"Colour: Deep dark ruby red.
Aroma: Unripe black fruits, cherry, raspberries, barbecue smoke with a touch of spice. Also quite an off-putting leafy note.
Taste: Light-medium body, firm ripe tannin's and quite acidic. Flavours of sour cherry and blackcurrants with a medium length finish.
Overall: Lacking in body and the fruit seems a bit unripe but all in all not bad. Nice fruit flavour, light and easy-drinking, good on its own and exceptional value. A good everyday wine well worth trying but don’t expect too much."
Mr Gabriel Higgins (15-Jul-2017)
"Really enjoyed this. Excellent value."
Mr Richard Hadfield (21-May-2017)
"Sadly, I have to concur with other reviewers who found this harsh - each time I opened a new bottle I hoped that somehow the previous ones had been unlucky bottles, but each one disappointed. I'm not sure what "supple" means in this context, but I couldn't find a dish that this wine complemented."
Mr Richard Scott (09-May-2017)
"Like other reviewers I thought that I must have had an off bottle. Tasted cheap and almost not good enough to cook with. Not what I would expect from the Wine Society. Certainly not recommended"
Dr Gordon Anderson-Taylor (13-Nov-2016)
"Good when compared to a similarly-priced bottle of supermarket plonk, but really not good enough to rave about. A bit harsh on the old tastebuds, but that didn't stop us finishing the bottle in a sitting."
Mr Dan Cook (06-Oct-2016)
"Excellent wine with spicy BBQ meats"
Mr Richard Baptista (26-Aug-2016)
"At this price reasonable drinking. We much preferred this to the more expensive Perrin blend."
Mr Ron Birch (24-Aug-2016)
"Cheap. But tastes it."
Dr Gareth Smith (13-Aug-2016)
"tarte, thin, woody, not balanced, not recommended."
Mr Martin Reeves (11-Aug-2016)
"I don't know if I had an off bottle or something but I really didn't enjoy it. The previous vintage was much better."
Ms Sophie R A Ritzenthaler (05-Dec-2015)

Mr Jonathan Taylor (12-Aug-2016)
"Underwhelming I'm afraid. Too little of anything to enjoy, and therefore to recommend, even at the relatively modest price."
Mr Howard Arrowsmith (27-Jul-2015)
"When first opened, the nose was deliciously floral (rose and lavender?), but from the second glass the nose became more medium-lady style. On the palate, fruity and smooth, with good acidity, but did not seem greatly tannic. Very drinkable, and good value. I'm surprised that wines with 13.5 per cent alcohol are now described as medium bodied."
Dr Christopher Currie (15-Jul-2015)
"First opening of this wine on a hot summer evening 30.06.15 with a barbecue. We were not impressed so put the Cork back and put it in the fridge! The next day we had a brilliant light fruity red with no food. I shall buy this again but it just didn't go with the barbie for us."
Dr Brian Metters (01-Jul-2015)
"One of our "go-to" midweek wines. Excellent value. A particularly good match for BBQ lamb, burgers or herby chicken wings."
Mr Michael Garden (29-Mar-2015)
"Good structure, fruit, and complexity. Fantastic value."
Mr Shawn T White (18-Mar-2015)
"I agree with the previous comments for this wine, its medium bodied but fruity, I found that this wine was best left open for a bit as initially when pouring from the bottle without any breathing time I felt it to be a bit flat, however improved vastly once left open for a bit and aerated. Nice to drink with food, great value for an everyday red."
Mr David Mitchell (06-Oct-2014)
"Fruity, easy drinker with enough structure to make it great value."
Mr Matthew Thomas (02-Aug-2014)
"Great fun wine. Though not full bodied, it stood up well to a spicy puttanesca and has good length. Recommended.
"
Mr Rory Bremner (28-May-2014)
"Really good value, fruit in abundance and quiet spicy. Good length and would recommend."
Mr Alexander Forryan (11-Apr-2014)

"Nice name, nice wine,
nice price, a bright youthful red from one of the local co-operatives in the
Douro Valley, showing sweet black cherry, plum and spice on the nose, and a
vivid, juicy ripeness of dark fruit with a bite of char-grill-friendly tannins on
the finish. - The Wine Gang"
