"Less depth than the Litre bottle of Amntillado - brief sweet initial note but quite light in length. Nevertheless, very moreish"

"Colour: Deep dark orange brown.
Aroma: Pungent and rich, baking spices/allspice, fruitcake, dried apricots, dates, bruised apple, citrus peel, caramel, toffee, vanilla and a damp dusty note but in a good way.
Taste: Dry, full-bodied, viscous with good brisk acidity. Smooth on the palate with flavours of nuts, marzipan and jammy dried fruits with a persistent long after-taste.
Overall: Wholly enjoyable. Complex and long might sum it up best and at a bargain of a price. A must buy for anyone who likes this style of Sherry."
I would recommend this wine

"Not sure about this. Nose is a bit wet cardboard box and figgy. Nice walnut notes.
Palate is a weak in the middle. Actually tastes like there is PX in this. Has a real raisined note. Also, the colour looks like it has had a bit of the dark stuff thrown in - more burnished bronze than mahogany. Slightly bitter finish. At least it is on the drier side.
This is not overly-representative of MD oloroso, but at this price is just fine. "

"Gently chilled, this sweetish dry sherry is rich and complex. An excellent drink, and stunning value - once opened, it's very hard to resist. No Dry January here!! "

"I have been buying this wine for many years. I agree with many of the comments made by others on the excellent quality of this sherry which is such good consistency. And what good value! It has been a family favourite for some time.

"This is a marvel - a wonderfully rich, full and complex sherry. It's dry, but not overly so, in fact there are all sorts of hints of sweetness there. It's a fabulous alternative to an amontillado and at this price, quite frankly, it's ridiculously good value. I have bought only two bottles and I know I am going to have to get more, soon."

"Just finished our first bottle of new batch of 6 and have reordered. We prefer it chilled with almonds. It is indeed rich not too dry. We converted many friends to oloroso from the last batch and believe this is even better. No are certainly no sherry buying experts but think it's an incredible bargain. Reviews demonstrate how even a mildly complex sherry can divide opinion on taste, temperature etc. in the same way malt whisky does and long may it continue to do so."

"I am a huge Sherry fan and keen to try anything new. This offering has a good colour, fantastic nose, but taste wise is markedly dry, bitter even at the end, but even so, nicely made. Suggest serve at a good room temp' and better with nibbles than on its own. Good, but no wow factor here. Better Oloroso on the market in this price range!"

"A wonderfully rich, full nose of broken walnuts, dried figs and indeed celebratory notes. I would hope for something fuller for Christmas, but maybe this dryish, woody style, quite a contrast to its nose, is better taken on a wet lunchtime in the Highlands. For that, I guess it is good value. Slight 'boxiness' or stale taste, but the over-geographical description rather suggests it might be!

"Aromas of nuts and wood, dried fruit, raisins, tea and coffee, with savoury but not yeasty notes and interestingly something of fresh fruit: a hint of yellow apples. On the palate, it's full bodied with a slight bitterness, astringent and a little bit alcoholic, like a liqueur, but without the sticky, sweet fruit, raisin liqueur, if there was such a thing. There's something very Christmassy about this wine!"
