Mr Dave Tester (01-Aug-2020)
"Absolutely loved this wine. Perfect with a salmon pasta dish on the 1st night and mushroom risotto on the 2nd. "
Miss Susan Brown (16-Jul-2020)
"A robust, full, even hearty white which will stand up to almost any food -- though actually maybe not very delicate white fish. Full of citrusy character. And eminently drinkable. Definitely one of our "go to" whites."

Dr Keith Marshall (13-Jun-2020)
"With a freshly created chicken casserole, this was outstanding. Fresh, citrusy, clear clean taste and no unpleasant aftertaste. This would really suit a nice hot afternoon. I would certainly recommend this, especially at this price."
Mr Julian Boyce (21-May-2020)
"Citrus mineral on the nose, Pleasantly tart, citrus notes on the tongue. Clean and refreshing finish.
Very good value."
Mr Darren Andrews (20-Apr-2020)
"Very nice refreshing wine. I think some Falanginas are frizzante ..this is not. Delicous on a summers day, but also with fish especially. We keep coming back to it. I love the rather tall elegant bottle."

"[This wine] has no right to be priced this low (under £9) but it's a floral-scented beauty with a well-balanced palate that expresses the waxy apricot character of this grape particularly well. - Andy Cronshaw"

"Interesting - the long finish with the slightly nutty taste to me adds a little something to this one. Might be a little fuller than modern tastes expect - but to me that makes this a very good food wine. "
Mr T Penn (24-Feb-2020)
Mr Georgios Stamenas (19-Jan-2020)
"Delivers a taster of Falanghina: fruit, lemon, a bit of acidity and a little more depth and longer finish than you would expect.
Definitely worth a try.
"
Mr David J B McKee (05-Aug-2019)
"Creamy and refreshing, would be a 3 star wine, but good value for money"
Mr Andrew Sturmey (27-Jul-2019)
"Quite refreshing and nothing nasty going on; but not much of interest going on either. You'll definitely spend £9 better in TWS list. "
Mr Richard Hadfield (12-Jul-2019)
"A fresh and fruity wine but certainly not a ‘fruit bomb’, this wine has some depth. It doesn’t have a particularly long finish but there is an intriguing something in the finish I’m still trying to identify. Certainly worth reordering and very good value."
Mrs Elissa Patterson (28-Apr-2019)
"Doesn't appear to have the complex aromas reported in previous vintages, but still very good for this price. Exactly as expected with plenty of acidity, lemon on the palate with a saline finish. Ever so slightly fat and round though."

"50 best wines for the
summer: Falanghina makes a brilliant fridge-door white. It is quite fruity, but
also edgy with a mandarin-like, fruity tang, a scent of citrus blossom and a
slight salinity. Fantastic with chicken or white fish flavoured with citrus and
herbs. - Victoria Moore"
The Daily Telegraph (9th Mar 2019)
"50 best wines under
£10: A thickly succulent falanghina made in Campania by La Guardiense. There’s
some weight to this white, but no lack of freshness or tang – think satsumas,
orange peel and yellow apricots. - Victoria Moore"
2016 VINTAGE - MEMBER REVIEWS
"Colour: Luminous, golden yellow with a tinge of green.
Aroma: Open and lasting, orange blossom, lemon, melon, grass, honey, pineapple, a mineral quality with a touch of spicy herbs and musk.
Taste: Dry, med+ body, zesty acidity, feels rounded, a smooth creaminess. Core flavour and finish of orange and lemon, good finish.
Overall: Very enjoyable, a good balance between acidity, fullness of flavour and texture. Crisp, juicy and some weight, punches above its weight in this price range, certainly recommend."
Mr Gabriel Higgins (22-Mar-2019)
"Yellow gold with a hint of green apple in colour. Much more body than I expected and overall a really nice surprise
Nice balance and good aftertaste. Much better than most Italian whites at this price. Would recommend. "
Mr Tom Rodger (18-Jan-2019)
"As a lover of Italian white wines I found this to be an excellent example of Falanghina and just what you would hope a Society label wine would offer.
Several bottles on more has been ordered.
"
Mr Chris Booth (03-Jan-2019)
"I am quite surprised by the low average rating for this wine. I was also surprised by how much I liked this wine. It is very easy to drink, but unlike some 'easy to drink' wines this has a lot of depth and flavour. It is one that I would be happy to order again."
Mr Michael Mahoney (12-Dec-2018)
"A member has commented that it is a good "fridge-door" wine. In fact the bottle that is used for this wine is too tall for the fridge door. It is a "drink all the bottle in one sitting" wine. Count that as a recommendation of the wine, but a complaint about the bottle."
Mr T J Carpenter (29-Nov-2018)
"Perfectly acceptable dry white. The nose has a freshness about it, above the minerality; daffodils maybe? Palate is lacking something though, acidity and body are a bit low. Tangy aftertaste"
Mr Matthew Utting (29-Sep-2018)
"2016 has refreshing zest but some length too which stands it apart from the usual regional staples. Very quaffable - my wife loves it! We loaded up on the offer which made it a fridge door favourite, but still decent value at £8.75. "
Mr Christopher Wyllie (16-Sep-2018)
"We were actually a bit disappointed with this wine. The acidity is overpowering and doesn't leave much room for anything else. Definitely a basic table wine for us."
Ms Louisa Mason (14-Jul-2018)
"This Falanghina is delicious, subtle of taste and clearly well made. Interestingly it goes rather well with wild strawberries.
"
Mr Grenville Collins (26-Jun-2018)
"We have given this wine 5 stars, because, having placed several repeat orders, we continue to find it delicious and very good value. It has a full rich flavour that lasts. Probably best drunk chilled but not fridge cold. We have enjoyed it with barbecued food and pastas and it stood up to both well."
Mr Charles Rush (10-Jan-2018)
"I've tried hard to find something to like in this Society labelled version but I'm sorry I can't. It's a generic 'world' wine that is a massive disappointment compared to the humbler offering from Janare that it replaced. The original 'basic' wine was one of the bargains of the List and I'd love to see it back."
Mr David J Crossgrove (25-Nov-2017)
"The clue here is that the wine is described as being composed of later harvested grapes, not to be confused with Falanghina currently offered in many Napoli restaurants. This wine is bigger, more considered and richer than the zesty crisp little numbers often found locally. It stands up to creamy sauces, and would accompany ham and other white meats. It would cope with tomato."

Sannio in Campania comes my new favourite grape variety. Everything the modern

characters. The perfect fish wine but intense enough to take spice, tomato and
garlic-based dishes. - Nina Cerullo"

Mr Gerry Hegarty (18-Sep-2017)
"Nice wine, i understand why others members have compared it too a good white Burgundy. Its a touch more pungent and a lot less money. But it's definitely oaked despite what the official description states, as there's that vanilla-y edge which rounds out the zesty-ness. Worth the money, but in a blind tasting I'd be unlikely to suggest Italian."
Mr James Brown (12-Sep-2017)
"None too subtle but lemony, zesty and fun."
Mr Colin Goldin (03-Sep-2017)
Mr Alex Downham (13-Jul-2017)
"Deliciously different. I get a hint of pear drops and apricot on the nose but much more citrus on the palate, somewhere between orange and pink grapefruit, but with a pleasing residual acidity and length of finish unusual at this price point. At 13.5% this is quite a powerful white but it's easy to drink on its own as well as being a versatile partner for food. I am only a couple of bottles in to my first order from TWS and am already regretting the many years I was not a member..."
Mr Bob White (14-Jun-2017)
Mr Alex Downham (14-Jun-2017)

"Zingy and refreshing, lovely citrus notes and a satisfying lengthy finish for a wine at this price."
Mr Jeff Garner (06-May-2017)
"First enjoyed this delicious wine a couple of years ago whilst staying in Pompeii. Was thrilled to see it added to the Wine Society listings last year."
Mrs Rebecca Keery (19-Feb-2017)
"This is a lovely wine. I am a white burgundy drinker and whenever I can afford to, that's what I drink. But since I can't always afford it, I've been all over the Society's list trying to find a white wine for less than £8 that I could enjoy the rest of the time. And this is the best so far. I know it's £8.25 but it doesn't make me miss white burgundy as much as I used to - so, cheap at the price! Try it - you're in for a treat."
Mr Gordon Best (13-Jan-2017)
"Was excited to try this, wasn't disappointing. Refreshing, very enjoyable."

Mr William Pollard (24-Sep-2016)
"More people need to know about this grape. It was new to me but now a family favourite, Difficult to compare with anything else as it has a distinctive flavour with a hint of the mustiness of southern Europe. Congratulations to the Wine Society for making this special bottling."

And it's not just me, everyone I give it to likes and is pestering me to get more. It has got beautiful fruit, but is really nicely balanced by dry, crisp, freshness. The
falanghina in my fridge at the moment comes from near Benevento: made by La
Guardiense, a co-operative of 33 growers founded in 1960 and now one of the
most important in southern Italy, it has a lovely clean, citrussy edge. It
also has a seriously stylish label, and it is an absolute steal from the Wine

"What a find! Friends of ours have raved about this wine for a while so we bought a case on a recent visit to Montreuil. It's so different to our normal white diet of chardonnay or sauvignon blanc. Not as dry, wonderful combination of aromatic and mineral flavours. Real complexity for the price. Went perfectly with our grilled trout."

The surprise is that a warm area in Italy’s south
