"Lovely light port. Light in colour, consistency and taste, almost Sherry like. An easy drinker and not as sweet as some heavier ports. "

"Very unimpressed. I have tasted several Ports in cellar and this is the poorest.
Do not order, Madeira or Sherry would be better than this.
It was part of one of the "Christmas" cases I ordered, no doubt they wanted rid of it!"

"This was sent to us as a Christmas gift along with some Stilton. I hope the Stilton is good, the port was awful. As others have said, it is very thin and totalling lacking in body. Worse still, when I cut the foil off and turned the stopper the cork broke off. Attempts to extract it with a corkscrew failed so it had to be pushed inside the bottle to access the wine. An examination of the cork showed it was extremely dry and brittle which is why it broke in two. I dont expect to reseal a wine such as this with cling film. Very, very poor.

"Somewhere between a tawny and a ruby; it lacks the sometimes syrup-like quality of a ruby but is a bit richer than a tawny. Goes very well with Brie and Wensleydale but I wouldn't hold up to a Stilton very well, in my opinion."

"Very nice easy drinking. Quite rich in flavour with raisin and toffee coming through. Excellent for the price."

"Value for money is an important concept here. This port offers deep, delightful cherry aromas on the nose; it is very pleasantly smooth on the palate; it has a finish long enough to present a clean, clear taste of toffee. A good port, and you won't do better at the price."
I would recommend this wine

"I use it for cooking rather than drinking. I'd call it a thin ruby more so that a tawny-style, because it fails to show the nutty dried fruit of a tawny. Still - it's cheap enough for sploshing into a sauce."

"This is accurately described as 'tawny-style' and the negative tone of most of the reviews seem rooted in the expectation that it would be more ruby in nature. If you like tawny, I suggest that you will like this, as we did. If your taste runs to the classic port style, then keep looking."

"I would not describe this as "deeply coloured". In fact, I found it thin and lacking body. I should have spent a couple of pounds more and purchased a LBV."

"I'd have to agree with some of the negative reviews. The port would probably be suitable if serving at an event where the important trait is quantity over quality: it is drinkable. Alternatively it would be good for cooking. However, it lacks the depth and body I normally associate with a port. Its more a mediocre sweet red wine."

"I agree with the first reviewers comments. I was very disappointed with this port. It lacks body and taste. Splash out on The Society's LBV, only slightly more expensive, but a far greater drink."

"I am very surprised at Mr. Zucker's comments. My wife and I have always found this wine delightful to finish off a meal and I am about to order more."
