"It's a great sipping whisky.
I water it down a little and have it after food (makes it sound medicinal - which it possibly is, but certainly not in terms of taste).
It isn't sweet, yet has that sensation when drunk.
The aftertaste has you reaching for the glass to have some more the moment you put it down , which must, of course, be resisted.
I have a large tumbler of chilled water to one side and in that way preserve the bottle for future evenings.
It is also very good value for money, yet the bottle has the appearance of being far more expensive, meaning you could bring it out when you have company. (When we are allowed to have any.)

"I first drank this with dry ginger and was disappointed but since adding only plain soft water it has become a pleasure to sip. This is now a firm favourite for a standard whisky."

"This is rather good, and keenly priced, too. The eight year age statement is a nice touch at this price point. This has a profile very typical of many speysiders and some highland malts - floral, honey, toffee, barley sugar, etc. There’s definitely some complexity to explore here, but this is ideal for an everyday dram, which is what I bought it for."

"Tempted to leave a dreadful review to put members off in case there is a run on this in these troubled times. After many years of testing I'd settled on Johnny Walker Red as my best blend. It was only when Lockdown happened and I coudn't go to the shops that I turned to the Society. To realise that this is available at the same price has been one of the most astonishing discoveries of my life. Quite superb value - but don't jsut think in terms of value, for it's really good.
And don't get me started on the 16 YO Highland Blend, which unfortunately is out of stock atm!"

"Vatted Malt is great value and not often seen around, many professional buyers not being that up on the mysteries of the Scotch Whisky business. This is my staple spirit which I find excellent with water and noticeably different to the usual blends even when diluted with dry ginger ale. I would thoroughly recommend this whisky - as long as you don't cause a shortage.

"Bought as part of Xmas case of various Society fare. This is good, in fact very good, honest whisky... especially in terms of value. Typical honeyed and butter-toffee Speyside Malt. Would put many single malt distillery brand names, with older age statements, to shame in terms of cost versus quality. I'd say perfect for hip flask drinking purposes at the rugby (to cheer on Scotland for the 6nations!). Not as good as the excellent society 16yo blend but that would be a tough ask!"

"I mix this with 2 teaspoons of pure cold water to a double. At 8 years there is a slight spirt taste at first but this gives way to a very good quality malt. Given that it vatted and not a single malt is is surprisingly good. I would have no hesitation recomending it for the price."
