"We are in the camp of really enjoying this one. Enjoyed the citrus particularly."
Mr Simon Taylor (02-Dec-2020)
"I just a had a bottle of this recently, really enjoyed it, a really good example of NZ Sauvignon Blanc, am ordering two more bottles."
Mr Mark Van Der Spiegel (02-Nov-2020)
"Sensational and terrific value for money. Great fruit/acid balance. Dangerously quaffable. "
Mr Martin Yarnit (30-Oct-2020)
"I'm sorry to read of another member's poor experience with this Sauvignon Blanc. I've found it very reliable and right on the money."
Mr Simon Moon (08-Sep-2020)
"Very different experience to the previous reviewers - this wine was the stand out best in a recent Sauvignon Blanc tasting and represents excellent value. The taste is clean, crisp, lots of lemon and gooseberry - delicious. I’m getting more. "
Dr Graham Wheatley (11-Jul-2020)
"During lockdown our wine club has held some online tastings; last week's was of 'bring your own New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs'. Having just received the mixed case of summer Sauvignons we extracted a bottle of this wine to try alongside those described by our Zoom-based buddies.
Although not as bad as described by the previous reviewer, it was still sadly disappointing, particularly when hearing the enthusiastic comments from others about the wines they had bought. We rapidly abandoned this wine and reverted to a couple of other Sauvignon Blancs. We won't be finishing this bottle nor starting the second."
Mr Calvert Markham (16-Jun-2020)
"Bought two bottles of this after a bin-end 2018, which was delicious. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst wines I've ever had. On opening there was an instant hit of sulphur. Without any prompting, my son's first comment was "sulphur". On tasting, it was the same, some obvious sauvignon character but overwhelmed by sulphur. I opened the second bottle but it was exactly the same. There is something serious wrong with this wine. I shall be requesting a refund for both bottles, unfortunately."
Mr Arthur Butler (09-Jun-2020)

"I am at a loss to understand some of the previous reviewers. I found this wine to be one of
the best examples of a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with an abundance of fresh citrus flavours
but with a hint of minerality which makes this a very 'poised' wine. I loved it!"
Dr Howard Jones (24-Dec-2019)
"A very typical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Reminded me of Oyster Bay which is my favourite but it is more expensive so not as good value. "
Mr Patrick Farmer (22-Dec-2019)
"I think we need a response from the strong but opposed views from the buyer. Thanks "
Mr Simon C W Roper (03-Dec-2019)
"Very disappointed.
Didn't taste like a NZ SB.
Kind of a soapy feeling to it."
Mr John Edwards (06-Nov-2019)
"Yuck. It's like drinking cold wet feet on an autumn day. Sorry, but this is somewhere close to anything that one can drink. Exhibition range usually very classy but this is for the drain."
Dr Michael Stephan (31-Oct-2019)
"Sorry to disagree with the previous reviewer but I liked this wine. Possibly it's a little drier that the 2017 and not as ideal as an aperitive as the Stoneburn Sauvignon Blanc. "
Mr Richard G Faber MS FRCS (02-Aug-2019)
"I'm sorry to say this is dreadful. It has no citrus after just sharp and nasty. If I got it in a pub I would send it back. Too tart to taste any flavour. "
Dr Mike and Anna Taylor (17-Feb-2019)

"Just had the 2017 Exhibition Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc which was not as sharp but flat and not aromatic. Very disappointing. Stick with Three Terraces."
Dr P M Stratton (20-Feb-2019)
"Poor. Far too acidic for my family. Last third went down the sink."
Dr Richard E A More (07-Feb-2019)
"Placed an order for this hoping for a lighter, easy drinking, Sauvignon Blanc and got exactly that. Have just ordered more. This is lovely, crisp and lemon fresh. If you’re after a more soulful, buttery SB (which I also like) then this isn’t for you. IMHO, if you want something warmer then I’d say (increasing in depth) go for the Stoneburn (2017), Dogpoint (2015) or Greywacke (2016) but I like this for what it is!"
Mr Tony Hughes (27-Dec-2018)
"An elegant sauvignon, plenty of mouthwatering citrus and not sweet"
Dr Matthew Thomson (06-Nov-2018)
"I concur with the two earlier reviewers. Definitely not up to WS Exhibition standard."
Mr Geoffrey Jarvis (18-Aug-2018)
"citrus flavor is very pronounced, disproportionately so for my taste, however others may prefer this."
Ms Leslie Evans (23-Apr-2018)
"Pale green in colour. Sharp taste and rather acidic. Not my taste and have had better SB from the WS"
Mr Tom Rodger (20-Apr-2018)

"Ever reliable Hunter SB that never disappoints. The usual gooseberry and citrus notes to the fore with tantalizing hints of grassiness and decent length. Beautifully drinkable on its own but delicious with some salmon. A household staple."
Mr Jonathan Smith (02-Jul-2016)
"This is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc, perhaps a little sharp but with a good flavour. Relatively pricey but on balance worth it."
Neil Butter Esq (30-Jun-2016)
"Very much your typical marlborough sav, needs to be very chilled but has all the classic fruit flavours. nothing out of the ordinary taste wise but its very drinkable."
Mr James Dallison (28-Jun-2016)
"Powerful grapefruit and citrus. Sharp but mellow. Clean finish."
Mr Bruce Marson (29-Apr-2016)
"Tremendous stuff and a firm favourite in our house. It feels drier than the 2/9 rating but suits us all. Lovely fruit and lingering flavour."
Dr Dyfrig M Davies (26-Apr-2016)
"Fantastic flavoursome experience. Each sip was an absolute pleasure"

"
Lovely
stuff that announces itself aromatically from the very first. If you need a
wine to tackle asparagus, scallops, sushi, fish and chips, Thai spice or an
Indian curry (or even goat's cheese), this is it: a thoroughly classy
sauvignon blanc from pioneering Hunter's that brims with clean-cut passion
fruit, gooseberry, elderflower, guava and grapefruit topped and tailed with
crunchy lemon acidity. Snap some up immediately - it's delicious and
exceptional value. A fine wine from all angles, this is what artisanal
Marlborough sauvignon blanc tastes like.

"Terrific. Found at the back of a rack. Lost its youthful exuberance but gained complexity. Would not want to keep for too much longer but it really was enjoyable with the crispy fried fillet of Hake!!"

Remarkably zesty, vibrantly aromatic and gloriously refreshing. Melon, lemon,

"Bear in mind that I don't like Sauvignon Blanc much, but this wine is so acidic that it's undrinkable IMHO. Reminds me of a tourraine SB from a wet vintage."
Mr Russell Sainty (20-Jan-2014)
"All of the above. Classic SB grapefruit but more subtle than Chile and cheaper NZSB. Well rounded, good finish. Classy, good value. Recommended."
Mr Charles Stokes (10-Aug-2013)
"Big gooseberry and blackcurrant nose. Balanced with crisp, refreshing acidity with a long grapefruit and peach finish. This is an ideal wine for the summer weather. I can see why this one made the Exhibition range.

"Yes, this is an excellent wine. The expected zesty approach of gooseberry, lemon and hint of lime is there and then the quality reveals itself through the middle and finish, which crucially is not young, as so many of these can be and a warm rich lingering end adds to the satisfaction. At the price, I would have to say it is a fair price and worth keeping a couple in stock to treat yourself."
Mr Richard Morton (17-Jul-2012)
