I am delighted to offer you this UK-bonded* offer of Domaine Tempier’s Bandols from a small, high-quality vintage. Like the previous vintage, 2023 was very hot and dry, producing minute quantities of small, healthy grapes. The wines display impressive depth of flavour and ripeness, but what sets the 2023s apart is their wonderful vibrancy and freshness.
Order by midday on Thursday 11th June
Bandol, in an amphitheatre of vineyard Provence, is especially well suited to mourvèdre, the grape that is the backbone of the appellation. In the early 1940s Domaine Tempier was instrumental in the creation of the Bandol appellation, which insisted on mourvèdre as its focus. It is not the easiest grape to grow, but Bandol provides the perfect conditions for it to thrive. Today it is considered one of the great wine regions of France and Tempier remains the leading address here.
It is not a large estate, however, and its wines are much in demand, especially in vintages such as 2023. Don’t miss your chance to order these wines.
