The only grape that smells of grapes and a multi-tasker that yields light-as-air sweet wines in Asti , the richer Moscatels of southern Spain and dense, fortified vins doux in southern France and Victoria’s Rutherglen (‘Christmas pud in a glass’). Fermented dry, as in Alsace, it’s a soulmate of asparagus.
