Fine wine vintage chart
Our wine vintage chart contains vintage ratings on the top wine-producing regions around the world for red, white and fortified wines, to help you decide what to buy, and when to pull the cork.
Wine vintage charts are broad-brush generalisations, based on regional weather conditions leading up to, and during the harvest and should be considered in context. Gifted growers often make excellent wine in lesser vintages, just as, in outstanding years, mediocrity can prove a stronger force even than Mother Nature.
Impressive longevity is all very well, but we also need something to drink in the shorter term, while we await the sleeping giants. In the enjoyment of wine, there is a place for everything, and a wine vintage chart such as this one is merely a start to putting everything in its place.
Our chart includes Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Rioja and Tuscany for red wines and also Alsace, Germany, Burgundy and Sauternes for white wines. There are also fortified wine vintage ratings for Port where a Port vintage has been declared.
