Vote NOW for the 2026 nominees

We need your help! Now in its third year, our Climate & Nature Programme received a record 46 applications from growers around the world, all competing for funding. Our judges have narrowed them down to 15, but now it's over to you to choose this year’s winners. As it's your Society's money being invested, we want members to have a say in where it goes. Read about the projects and vote for your top three.

What is the aim of the Climate & Nature Programme? It’s about...

  • Investing in the people and places behind the wines we love
  • Helping our producers stay profitable for the long term
  • Supporting farming practices that improve soils and support wildlife
  • Helping vineyards cope with drought, extreme weather and disease
  • Funding vineyard trials that help growers find and share better ways of farming

What have we funded so far?

Since launching the programme in 2024, we have provided more than £120,000 to support 24 projects across eight countries. From planting trees, hedgerows and wildflowers to restoring natural habitats and testing new ways of farming, our funding is helping growers respond to some of the biggest challenges facing wine today. That includes coping with hotter, drier and more unpredictable weather, improving vine health, maintaining wine quality and reducing reliance on pesticides and fertilisers

Why does it matter for members?

Members regularly tell us they want to know where their wine comes from, how the grapes are grown and about the people behind it. They care about the countryside where wine is made, the wildlife that lives there and the communities that look after these landscapes. They want to support family-owned businesses, hear their stories and feel more connected to the wines they buy.

This programme is all about investing in the future of wine while bringing members closer to the people and places behind the bottles.
