Weingut Andres & Knipser 2022/25

Sensational wines from Germany’s Pfalz region

Andres & Knipser 2022/25

The Pflaz (known as the Palatinate) is Germany’s second largest wine growing region, and one of its warmest. Located in the south-west of the country, riesling is still king, but spätburgunder is becoming increasingly important and competing on the world stage with other pinot noirs in terms of quality and price, especially from these two estates we are offering today.

Order by midday, Tuesday 3rd November

Weingut Andres is an exciting new addition to The Wine Society range. Brothers Michael and Thomas took over from their parents in 2015 and have been committed to working biodynamically and organically and moving the estate to a more terroir-led approach. In terms of winemaking, they work reductively and the wines are precise and have a lot of tension. The 2025s are simply stunning, they have charm, energy and a mineral core that the best German rieslings deliver.

Knipser is a winery we have been working with for many years. This family estate has some exceptional vineyards and their Grosses Gewächs (grand cru) sites showcase how good their wines get. These are wines that benefit from ageing in the cellar, especially the Mandelpfad spätburgunder. The 2022s being offered are from a warm vintage, with the wines delivering a richness, spice and weight combined with supple and fine tannins.
