First release: Weingut Andres & Knipser 2022/25

Brothers Michael and Thomas Andres have taken over this family estate in the Pfalz and have started to gain a following for their precise, reductive style of winemaking. This riesling comes from the Forster Elster and Ungeheuer sites where the vines are planted on red sandstone, basalt and limestone soils and the wine is aged in large, neutral barrels with indigenous yeasts. A bone-dry style with lots of citrus, jasmine and peach notes combined with a juicy acidity and brightness. Drink from 2027 to 2030. 12.5%

From south and south-east facing slopes and planted on red sandstone and marl soils, this produces a generous riesling that has a mineral backbone. Ripe stone fruits and orange blossom perfume with ginger hints and plenty of spice and salinity on the palate. The 2025 vintage is instantly appealing and whilst it will benefit from some time in bottle, there is a power and structure that will enable the wine to cellar for some years to come. Drink from 2027 to 2036. 12.5%

The Paradiesgarten (Paradise garden) is one of Deidesheim's highest vineyard sites that is situated on the edge of the Palatinate Forest. It is a cool site with red sandstone soil that produces a mineral, fresh and structured style of riesling. In 2025 it is a slightly warmer vintage compared to 2024 and the resulting wine is more juicy on the palate, yet the profile is very lime, slate and steely. Drink from 2027 to 2033. 12.5%

From a top Grösses Gëwachs (grand cru) vineyard site, this is a charming and floral red wine that feels very open and accessible, even in its youth. Coming from several parcels, the soil is a complex mis of loess, marl and limestone. Expect wild flowers and strawberries combined with violet notes and fine, chalky tannins. There is a generosity to the core that is a nod to the warm vintage. Drink from 2027 to 2037. 13.5%

From a top Grösses Gëwachs (grand cru) vineyard site, this pinot noir is from the estate's coolest vineyard site where it receives plenty of afternoon shade. It comes from a very sheltered, relatively steep southern slope in the Eckbachtal and from clay dominant and limestone soil. From late 1980s Burgundy clones, the 2022 was a warm vintage that produced wines with a lot of concentration, yet with freshness that comes through. This vineyard shines in warmer vintages as carries additional energy. Violet perfume with red berry perfume and a fine, chalky tannin structure. Drink from 2028 to 2040. 13%

This vineyard is one of the estate's most important plots and from vines planted in the mid-1990s. The grapes come from a steep, southern slope in the Himmelsrech site. This is a rich and full bodied style of spätburgunder with lots of liquorice, brambles and a hint of smoke and spice. The tannins have a grip and the wine needs time in bottle.
