Rose Wine from Spain - Valencia & Levante
You can call it light red or dark rosé, and you’d be right. In the south Mediterranean, this “clarete” style as they refer to it, is one of the traditional styles of the region where they combine and co-ferment red and white grapes. In these hot climes you could argue no one wants a big chunky red, but something more refreshing. Personally, I love this style, tart and juicy with a bit of structure and should be served chilled like a white or rosé. Altolandon are an organic and sustainable-first trailblazer, with female winemaker Rosalia always looking to make wines with a sense of place. This clarete blends bobal, pinot noir, muscat and garnacha gris. Totally original, totally delicious, my drink of the summer.
