Join us for a very special Dining with the Stars dinner – an unforgettable evening at The Star Inn at Harome. The talented team at The Star are crafting a delicious seven-course menu, to be served in the intimate setting of The Wheelhouse. Each course will be expertly paired with a truly stellar line-up of wines by our special guest and buyer, Freddy Bulmer.
The final menu and wine selection will be confirmed and published in September. Subject to final confirmation, the wine selection will feature the following:
Chave Hermitage Blanc 2019
Chateau Palmer 2000
Chateau d’Yquem 2001
If any changes are needed, the wines selected will be of similar quality and style.
A message from Freddy Bulmer:
The Star Inn is one of my favourite restaurants in the world not just for the incredible food, atmosphere and service, but because it holds so many personal memories. I grew up nearby, had my first “smart” date here at 18, and have celebrated countless special occasions with family over the years. I also have The Star Inn to thank for my journey into the wine industry! I’m thrilled to return for an unforgettable evening, pairing world-class wines, including Chave Hermitage Blanc, Château Palmer and Château d’Yquem, with Andrew Pern and Stephen Smith’s Michelin-starred tasting menu. A truly exceptional night of world class food and wine.
About The Star Inn:
The Star Inn, owned by Andrew Pern, was one of the first pubs to be awarded a Michelin Star for its seasonal food. Voted No 3 UK Gastropub for 2025, it has maintained its position as one of the leading restaurants in the North of England for almost three decades.
Sit back, relax, and let the Tastings & Events team guide you through the wonders of food and wine pairing, whether it be at a restaurant takeover, themed dinner, Members’ lunch, or foodie masterclass. Our team will help members learn the building blocks of how the flavours and sensations in food and wine interact. The menus for the events are usually provided on registration but do let us know of any dietary or seating requirements.
To ensure our tastings and events run smoothly and are enjoyed by all, we would ask members and guests to:
• Be respectful of others by moving away from the tables once a sample has been poured, unless talking with a producer or staff member
• Be aware of others waiting to try the wines when talking to producers and staff members
• Not wear perfume or aftershave as this can make it difficult for others to taste the wines
• Avoid crowding around the spittoons to keep them accessible to others
• Avoid bringing large bags into the room or wearing back packs, for the comfort of others
• Be mindful of your alcohol intake and make use of the spittoons and water provided.
Please note that:
• We operate a Challenge25 policy and you or your guest/s may therefore be asked to show ID to confirm being over 18. We reserve the right to refuse service should it be deemed necessary.
• We have a duty of care to Society, venue and agency staff, winemakers and producers in attendance, as well as to members and guests. Any inappropriate behaviour or harassment will therefore not be tolerated. Instances of inappropriate behaviour or harassment will be dealt with by the Events Manager or Head of Tastings & Events in attendance, and if it's deemed that the behaviour is harmful, the offender will be asked to leave the tasting, with further action to follow.
