Giant Steps Applejack Vineyard Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2024
White Wine from Australia - Victoria
A refined expression of this cool, elevated site in the Upper Yarra. Planted at 300 metres on an east-facing slope, Applejack consistently delivers fruit with tension, clarity and poise, and the 2024 vintage is no exception. The nose is lifted and flinty, with pristine aromas of white peach, lemon zest and wet stone, underpinned by hints of meadow grass and crushed almond. On the palate, it’s taut and finely etched, with crystalline acidity and a chiselled structure. Green apple, lemon posset and sea spray drive the core, gradually opening to reveal subtle notes of straw and nougat on a long, tapering finish. There’s intensity here, but it’s carried with grace and restraint. This is a pure and elegant chardonnay with a luminous quality and a standout release from one of the Yarra’s most evocative sites. Drink from 2026 to 2037. 13.3%
