Sadly, there was only a small crop of this outstandingly classy Chianti Riserva, blessed with the hallmark fragrant Riecine bouquet and beautifully balanced flavour and promising graceful ageing for some time yet.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Brolio 2016 100ml
Beautifully balanced classy Italian wine that will mature gracefully for a decade, though it is already creamy and silky on the palate. This is made from a selection of the best grapes of this first-class estate in one of the best vintages Tuscany has experienced.
Barbaresco, Rizzi 2016 100ml
From vines facing south and south-west where Italy's nebbiolo grape is able to ripen well, this is a fragrant cherry-scented and spicy Barbaresco. 2017 was a ripe year in Piedmont, and so this is looking pretty in its youth, but will develop even more spice and soften with time.
