The red wines of Stellenbosch have never been more exciting. Building on a long-established reputation for producing world-class Bordeaux varieties, the region has reached new heights of precision, purity, and quality through continued advances in both vineyard management and winemaking.

To mark the exceptional 2025 vintage, The Wine Society is launching its first-ever Stellenbosch en primeur campaign on 3rd August 2026, offering members the opportunity to secure a selection of the vintage’s most sought-after Bordeaux blends and cabernet sauvignons before release.

Taking place ahead of the campaign launch, this special online event offers members a unique opportunity to discover more about this remarkable vintage, the wines that will be offered en primeur and the people behind them.

Join buyer Victoria Mason MW live from Stellenbosch as she explores the vintage with three of the region’s leading producers: Marc Kent, technical director at Boekenhoutskloof, Michael Malherbe, viticulturist at Kanonkop, and Wim Truter, cellarmaster at Meerlust. Together they will discuss the growing season, blending decisions and why 2025 is shaping up to be one of Stellenbosch’s most exciting vintages in recent memory.

Now one of our most popular offerings, these events are designed to give members an insight into wineries by hearing from those on the ground. Often there will be wines to complement the event, though buying these wines is not compulsory to attend or enjoy the event, and these sessions can be watched with a cup of tea if you would prefer!
