South by South West Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 100ml

Livia Maiorana and Mijan Patterson produce fresh, elegant and beautifully balanced small-batch wines in the stunning region of Margaret River, Western Australia. Apart from their cult icon red, 'Super Margs', and a couple of parcels of excellent cabernet-merlot, they usually focus their attention on white wine production; however, in 2022 they wanted to make something special. This was the year they welcomed their daughter, Remi, into the world and also gained access to a parcel of premium-quality, 20-year-old cabernet sauvignon vines, in the highly regarded Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River. They took it as a sign and decided to make this wine as a one-off in order to celebrate young Remi. This is cassis-laden, plush and silky wine with a beautiful combination of dark-fruit depth, hallmark cabernet bay leaf and the lifted elegance and fragrance of South by South West. Buyer Freddy Bulmer personally enjoyed a bottle of this wine on Christmas Day and was absolutely thrilled by the quality. It is only because of The Wine Society's great relationship with South by South West that we have been offered stock of this special one-off bottling and at this price it is unmissable. Other than via us, this is only available if you go to the winery itself and buy a bottle! When two-year-old Remi was asked what she thought of it, she said it smelled of 'purple chocolate.'
