Vasse Felix 'Tom Cullity' Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon-Malbec 2022

Code: AU29981
Red
Tom Cullity is the flagship wine of Vasse Felix, named after the estate's founder and produced from descendants of the original cabernet sauvignon and malbec vines planted in Margaret River in the 1960s. Widely regarded as one of Australia's greatest cabernet-based wines, the 2022 is a wonderful release. A cool spring followed by a warm, even growing season produced concentrated fruit with great flavour definition. The nose is beautifully complex, combining cassis, raspberry and dark plum with notes of dried herbs, autumn leaves, orange peel and wet stone, all framed by subtle cedar spice from 18 months in French oak. The palate is powerful but detailed and stylish, with layers of dark berry fruit, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity creating impressive drive and precision. Savoury notes of bay leaf, tobacco, liquorice and spice emerge on the long finish. Built for ageing but already remarkably expressive, this is a superb example of Margaret River cabernet at its highest level. Drink from 2027 to 2042. 14%

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Code: AU29961
Red
A superb release from a classic Margaret River vintage, the 2022 Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon captures the balance of power, freshness and refinement that has made this one of Australia's most celebrated fine wines. Warm, sunny conditions through January and February allowed the development of beautifully ripe fruit and wonderfully refined tannins, while a small spell of rain in late March and early April extended the ripening period and added further complexity. Following hand harvesting, individual berry sorting and a cold soak, the wine spent 22 months in French oak, building both structure and detail. The nose is intensely fragrant, with currants, dark cherries and boysenberries framed by violet and lavender perfume. More savoury notes of dried sage, oregano, black cardamom, anise and tobacco leaf emerge with air. The palate is concentrated and finely textured, with vibrant acidity bringing lift to the dark fruit core. Notes of black olive, vanilla pod and graphite add further complexity, while the tannins are fine, persistent and beautifully judged. A wine of real pedigree that will reward cellaring for many years to come. Drink from 2028 to 2038. 13.5%

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2023

Code: AU29911
White
A benchmark for modern top-tier chardonnay, Leeuwin's 2023 Art Series is nothing short of world-class. Produced from an exceptional Margaret River vintage that produced fruit with perfect ripeness and purity, this is an immaculately composed wine which has real precision, power and longevity. The nose is intensely concentrated and lifted, showing fresh-cut pear, white peach and ripe lime zest, before more complex notes of jasmine, white flowers, vanilla pod, cashew and toasted macadamia emerge with air. The palate is concentrated but beautifully lifted, with apple, pear, white nectarine and ripe citrus fruit carried by gentle natural acidity. Eleven months in 100% new French oak barriques adds texture, depth and subtle savoury complexity, yet the oak remains completely integrated. This is a wine of equal purity and power, where fruit, acidity and oak sit in perfect harmony. Profoundly long and beautifully balanced, it sits comfortably alongside the worlds greatest expressions of chardonnay. Drink from 2028 to 2038. 13.5%

Leeuwin Estate Art Series Margaret River Shiraz 2023

Code: AU29951
Red
Produced from another exceptional vintage, this is a wonderfully fragrant and finely detailed shiraz that places elegance and perfume ahead of sheer weight and is a great argument for the variety in Margaret River. The nose is immediately expressive, with cherry blossom, violet and rose water aromas rising from the glass, supported by layers of mulberry, damson plum and blue fruits. More savoury notes of white pepper, anise, cinnamon and clove emerge with air, adding further complexity. The palate is beautifully composed, combining blackberry, blueberry and black pastille flavours with bright acidity and finely woven tannins. Eighteen months in French oak, 30% of it new, provides shape and subtle seasoning rather than overt oak character. There is impressive concentration here, but it is delivered with real restraint and freshness. Long, layered and persistent, this is a sophisticated and compelling expression of shiraz that continues to strengthen Leeuwin's reputation beyond cabernet and chardonnay. Drink this year to 2032. 13.5%

Vasse Felix Heytesbury Margaret River Chardonnay 2024

Code: AU29971
White
Vasse Felix's Heytesbury Chardonnay sits comfortably among Australia's greatest white wines and remains one of the benchmark expressions of Margaret River chardonnay. Drawn from a selection of the estate's most distinctive vineyard parcels, planted to the renowned Gingin clone, the 2024 vintage reflects an exceptionally early and warm growing season that delivered remarkable fruit concentration while retaining impressive freshness. The nose is immediately captivating, combining peach, preserved lemon and mandarin peel with layers of struck flint, roasted cashew and wild herbal complexity. The palate is richer and more powerful than some recent vintages, yet never loses its sense of control. Generous stone-fruit flavours are framed by vibrant acidity, a subtle saline edge and beautifully judged oak, bringing texture, depth and savoury complexity without obscuring the fruit. The finish is long, dry and finely structured, with a lovely interplay of minerality, citrus zest and gentle phenolic grip. A compelling and ageworthy Heytesbury that showcases both the power and finesse of this celebrated site. Drink from 2027 to 2037. 13.5%
