Morgon Maison Jean Marc Aujoux 2023
Brouilly Cuvée Marcel, Jacques Dépagneux 2023
A full, rounded and ripe-flavoured Beaujolais with soft tannins, sweet fruit and a fresh, long finish. 2023 was a great vintage for Beaujolais, fresher than the 2022 but with good balance and ripeness of fruit. Jean-Marc from Aujoux, who makes our Society's Beaujolais Villages and our Exhibition wines, worked with us to source an additional Brouilly for members given the quality available.
Chénas , Stéphane Aviron 2023
From a classic and fresh vintage this is a fresh, ripe and perfumed cru Beaujolais from very vines planted more than100 yeas ago. Displays good fruit density, with notes of kirsch. Supple and silky textured. from very old vines, the youngest of which were planted in 1913 on red granite soils.
Fleurie, Domaine Montangeron 2024
A member favourite for many years, this is copybook, perfumed Fleurie delivering plenty of supple, ripe fruit. Perfect with roast chicken and other fowl. The Montengeron family have their vines close to the border with Morgon and their Fleurie needs a year in bottle to show at its best. It comes from a number of different vineyard parcels (Chamilles, Champagne and Rochaux) that all lie mid-slope (generally regarded as the best spot for vines), on sandy soils.
Beaujolais Quincié, Stéphane Aviron 2024
From Quincié, considered one of the finest of the Beaujolais villages, this is red-fruited and juicy, bursting with tangy raspberries and redcurrants with a bright, crisp finish. Stéphane Aviron's says, 'we are more Beaujolais in 2024', referring to the fact that the vintage has yielded energetic, nimble, refreshing wines with modest alcohol levels and an undeniably 'croquant' – or crunchy – character.
Beaujolais, Domaine Desgranges 2025
This easy-going and fruity Beaujolais is bursting with strawberry, black cherry and violet aromas. From a 10-hectare estate in the south of Beaujolais, Domaine Desgranges is a long-term partner of Aujoux, who make our Society's Beaujolais Villages and our Exhibition wines. Fermented primarily via the semi-carbonic maceration method, this is perfumed and juicy with supple tannins - uncomplicated, delicious spring drinking.
