Château Citran, Haut-Médoc 2009

Red Wine from France - Bordeaux
0 star rating 0 Reviews
Now fully-mature Haut-Médoc from one of Bordeaux's greatest ever vintages Citran is known for its bouquet, and this takes it to another level. Crushed graphite, dried herbs, dried cranberries and leather combine with a medium-body, great tension and fine, dusty, grippy tannins. Fantastic value for a wine of this class and maturity and worth a decant for 20 minutes before drinking.

Château Citran

Lying to the north of the hamlet of Avensan, to the south of Moulis and Listrac and to the west of Margaux, Citran is a large property with more than 100 hectares under vine. It is planted with 58% cab sauvignon and 42% merlot on gravel and clay/limestone. Japanese owners invested considerably in cellar and vineyard from 1987 and current owners (since 1996) are the Merlaut Villars family, who have successfully built on those investments.
