Concha Corte Mixed Case

Alto Maipo cabernets have a fine cedary aroma and a firm palate, and while not dry, they are not fruit bombs either. This is a top example made by one of Chile's greatest winemakers, Ignacio Recabarren, exclusively for us. Matured in 225-litre barriques until the tannins have softened and the aromas have developed.

The Limarí Valley in Chile has ideal conditions for pinot noir. It is cool, allowing pinot's aromas to develop, and has both clay and limestone soils which contribute, respectively, structure and finesse. This blend of barrel and tank has lovely black cherry fruit and a pretty, silky palate. This wine is produced from the Quebrada Seca vineyard, owned by Concha y Toro, and located 12 miles or so from the ocean. The Limarí Valley is a cool area of Chile, with cloudy mornings which reduces the intensity of the sun on the grapes, an ideal climate for chardonnay. The subsoil in the best parts of Limarí is high in calcium carbonate, which lends this chardonnay minerality and freshness. This wine was matured for 11 months in barrel, which has contributed some breadth and weight to the bright and vibrant Limarí character resulting in a balanced and complete wine.
