Back for the fifth time, this event has become a staple of the Tastings and Events Calendar.

Tastings and Events colleagues Emma Briffett and Catherine Housden will guide members and their guests through an all American feast featuring the traditional turkey alongside classic American accompaniments.

Paired with wines from iconic names including Ridge, Stoney Hill and Tablas Creek and facts and figures you never knew you needed to know, this will be a celebration of the harvest and other blessings of the past year.

Catherine Housden

Catherine is our Tastings and Events Host at The Wine Society and joined the team in 2019 from Member Services where she was a valued Wine Adviser. Catherine hosts online and in person events across a range of themes and styles.

Emma Briffett

Emma Briffett is a Tastings and Events Co-Ordinator at The Wine Society. Emma has been part of the team since 2010 and is the ‘go to girl’ for all things food and wine matching. She has a degree in French and her WSET Diploma Award.

Sit back, relax, and let the Tastings & Events team guide you through the wonders of food and wine pairing, whether it be at a restaurant takeover, themed dinner, Members’ lunch, or foodie masterclass.  Our team will help members learn the building blocks of how the flavours and sensations in food and wine interact. The menus for the events are usually provided on registration but do let us know of any dietary or seating requirements.

Do you send physical tickets or is it all e-tickets? 

We no longer send out physical tickets for our events. An email confirming registration will be sent to the member who has purchased the ticket(s) and this email can be used as confirmation upon arrival at the event.  

Can I bring a non-member? 

Yes. Tickets must be booked by a member, but you are welcome to bring non-member guests.

Do I need to know lots about wine to attend?

Absolutely not! Our events target a range of experience and knowledge levels, and we try to make this clear on our event pages. If you’re unsure if an event is for you, simply contact and we will try to help.

Do I get a discount on wines after events?

After our ‘in person’ events, we offer attendees a 10% discount on the wines we have shown, subject to availability. You will be provided with a private code after attending the event to redeem the discount

Can I join a waiting list for sold out events?

Yes. Please do feel free to join our waiting lists for sold out events. If tickets become available you will be contacted by email.

The safety and well-being of our members, guests and staff remains our highest priority.

With this in mind we will be implementing the following safeguards:

·A thorough cleaning schedule and inspection process will be in place in all locations.

·Hand sanitisation stations will be available for your use.

·Although members and guests will not be required to wear face coverings, they are welcome to do so and our staff in front of house positions will continue to wear face coverings.

·NHS Track and Trace check ins will be available for guests that wish to do so.

Further to this, members attending events are encouraged to complete a rapid lateral flow test within 24 hours of attendance and members will be asked not to attend if they return a positive result or are displaying any Covid or flu like symptoms.

Members should be aware that social distancing will not be in place at tables with the usual number of members seated at each table. We believe this is a comfortable number without being crowded.

The Cellar Showroom will be open for browsing prior to and following Members’ Lunches but the enomatic machines will not be in operation and the Cellar Showroom will not be open prior to evening events.

Member Cancellation of Tickets

Should any guests display any symptoms or be informed of the need to self-isolate prior to attending, we will offer refunds on any purchased tickets. Please contact the Tastings team or Member Services ASAP should this occur.

Cancellation of Event

In the event of a localised outbreak within The Wine Society or a number of members of staff being forced to self-isolate, The Wine Society may be forced to cancel an individual event or the entirety of the events programme. Should this occur all ticket holders will be contacted, and refunds immediately issued, however The Wine Society will not be liable for any travel, accommodation or other expenses.
