Introduction to Fine Wine Case
Wines included
Château de Beauregard, Saint-Véran Le Vernay 2019
This is a fine-flavoured unoaked SaintVéran from a cool spot in Chasselas, which has succeeded in producing a fresh and beautifully balanced wine in this warm year. Taut and firm, it is unoaked to preserve its lovely minerality.
Château Pierbone, Haut-Médoc 2010
From the much heralded 2010 vintage this is showing plenty of development in the glass with good depth and a brick-red rim. The nose is gorgeous with all the dried-plum, cranberry and graphite notes associated with mature claret. The palate still shows good richness of fruit, with fine dusty tannins and an appetisingly dry finish. Ideal alongside some hard, aged cheeses or with a classic beef Sunday roast.
Chianti Classico, Castello La Leccia 2018
Succulent sangiovese from organically grown grapes in a splendid site at Castellina, looking south towards the beautiful Italian city of Siena. This Chianti Classico is perfumed with cherry and dried cranberries, with a medium body, and tart red fruit and balsamic spice balanced by the fine tannins.
Momo Vendimia Seleccionada, Ribera del Duero 2017
Ribera del Duero is rightly renowned as one of Spain's best areas for reds, and this intense, plump smoky and well-balanced wine offers a fine example at a very good price for its quality.
Crozes-Hermitage, Domaine Pochon 2019
Dark fruit, gently spiced blackberry and clean, sappy flavours make up a northern Rhône red from the sun-kissed 2019 vintage that would be perfectly suited with a juicy steak.
Vadio Branco, Bairrada 2020
A precise blend of Bairrada's bical and cercial grapes, with flashes of lemon citrus and delicate white-flower perfume with an Atlantic-fresh finish. Made by a young producer who cut his teeth at Portuguese star producer and member favourite Herdade de Esporão.
